Hello!

I'm looking for some guidance regarding an issue I'm having when exporting a skeletal mesh from Houdini to Unreal Engine.

No matter what I've tried, the root bone ends up with a 90-degree rotation on the X axis in Unreal.

Here’s what I’ve tested so far:

1. Tried various export settings in the ROP FBX Character Output node.
2. Adjusted Unreal’s import options — using Force X Axis removes the rotation (0,0,0), but the mesh then faces upward.

3. Used the <KineFXtoUnreal> HDA to pre-rotate the root bone — this fixes the root, but causes the other bones to rotate in the wrong direction.

I think I’ve watched nearly every Houdini-to-Unreal skeletal mesh tutorial out there, but I still haven’t found a reliable solution.

If anyone has suggestions or insights, I would really appreciate the help. Thank you!
