Hi all.

I need some support from specialists, who have used Houdini for large fluid simulations.

Now Houdini fluids take a long calculation time. Research process is difficult with this speed. I really sure, fluids will be optimized (i`m right?) in future, but now, Houdini fluids need some solution, or workaround, for learning, tests and their adaptation in VFX process.

Questions:
1.
Someone try to use Houdini with clusters grid ? For example - MOSIX. Any fluid simulations take a very long times. I don`t know enough computer configurations for fast fluid solutions. I think only cluster can do this. I skilled in Linux, but I don`t skilled in clusters, and need any competent opinions.

2. Houdini fluids give a great flexibility. Really. But i hope, fluids will be optimized for more fast calculation. This is a not my personally request, but today clients wants Sad
FUMEfx plugin for 3dMax do very fast (but some identical look in most cases) results. Maya too (but simulation result is some dirty). Is a SESI have planned fluids optimization in future ?

3. How this look in big studios ? What solutions used for large fluid simulations ?

Houdini 9.5 - is a great step in many things. Fast mantra volumetric render (yeah!), many improvements with volumes - right way.Happy to see this progress Smile

i`m ask about “field”, or “container-based” fluids, of course. Particle fluids is great now for me.

Big thanks for any answers.
