From Daz Studio: FBX crashing houdini

Hi,

I got a problem regarding fbx import.
I try to get some characters from Daz Studio via export-plugin into Houdini. Some with and some without animation.

Every file (beside one containing a simple torus, only) crashes houdini.
I'm quite shure that I've tried all options, no success.

When I try collada, there're no textures (

Has anybody used daz studio together with houdini and got it to work?

I appreciate any comments.

Hey all,

i just uploaded a file as an example

It's a converted scene out of the free content stuff that's delivered together with the exporter.

I would really appreciate if someone could try to import this scene into houdini and maybe into Maya as well (Daz say, their exporter is tested on Maya…)

I'm currently looking into this. The crash should be fixed in tomorrow's build, but the figure imports in its default pose (it imports in a different, custom pose into Maya), and the bones are constructed incorrectly.

do you see a chance, that you get all the issues resolved (incl bones and pose)?

Eventually, yes, but the real question is how soon. Right now there are quite a few different issues on my plate, so I can't dedicate myself 100% to this problem. So depending on what the real underlying cause is, it might be a few days to a number of weeks before I can solve all the issues. If it's something that can be resolved (relatively) quickly and easily, I will post here as soon as I have a fix.
