Take 2 boxes and put them side by side………
Now how do you connect the 2 facing polygons without deleting them and manually Knitting the boxes togethertogether? Because im just not getting results that are useful. If I get something its usually a mess. I must be doing it wrong.

Bridging, connecting, sewing, ……..whatever you want to call it. Is there a way to do this with facing polygons in houdini?

Is it possible to enter lights you dont want to affect an object? Because sometimes its just easier to exclude a light instead of including all but one.

When the filter is used in the channel editor, jumping between keyframes happens with all channels. Even all the nonvisible/filtered out channel keys are jumped to.
Im sure this can be positive in some situations but its becoming cumbersome. Is there a way to tell houdini to jump to only the keys of the channels that are visible/filtered in?
ps.The only way around it would be to create a channel group with those channels. If there is a way to create one I would love to hear it as they are many and i am so few to manually pick them

It is possible to get somewhat of a scrub going by using the arrow keys really fast on the keyboard. However it crushes houdini with lag. :?
It shouldn't be a problem as I have had scenes longer than 500 frames before with audio and no lag in 5.5.

I have not used audio in houdini for a while and just noticed that the audio doesn't play when you scrub the time line in the dope sheet.
Im sure there are reasons for this, however it is becoming a pain everytime I want to hear an audio scrub. I have to mouse down to the play bar and fiddle with that, then go back and edit my keys in the dope sheet.
Is there a way to enable to work like in 5.5?

Wouldn't the colour of the diffuse channel control the colour of the rays going through the surface? Or is this done to give independant control regardless of the colour of the object?
ie. it would let a green piece of glass cast a red transparent shadow.
ps. Thanks deecue! watched em all twice at least already! ^_^

Why does the surface opacity accept vectors? Opacity is only a single channel that is usually controlled by a greyscale or float value.
ps.I would assume that alpha and opacity co-relate and would be one and the same. I apreciate the fact you can control them seperately however if they are the same would they not both use vectors going along with current scheme of things? Why the difference?

Well that solves that one… Thanks guys!
ps. will the bug fix wrap the identical named parms into subgroups to avoid the conflict? or is it not an issue and just a bug?

Alright but my understanding is that the shading layer vop askes houdini a question.(I think they call it echo)
Shading layer1 “where is my apple” or “what colour is my apple”
Shadding layer2 “where is my apple” or “what colour is my apple”
Two different parameters asking for the same information not two identically named nodes.

lol you caught me while I was typing my response…… so why does it pose a problem?
Does vex have a problem with redundancy? (ie to nodes making the same request?)
