Turning this FLIP sim a bit better

Hello, this is my first time doing flip simulations, and I would like to get any recommendations on this breaching effect

Is there any good way so I could replace the water splash effect, it looks very jelly-ish because it's very obvious that fluid particle surface was used...

An approach I had in mind was to convert the splash to VDB, but I would like to know if you guys got any other recommendations
