Problem: when try to open a file in an external portable hard drive connected, that driver is not shown in Houdini's “open file explorer”.
Question: Why Houdini can't recognize NTFS external hard drive?
I'm using iMac with Mac OS X 10.6.3 under 32bit mode and the external hard drive is in NTFS fromat. I've already installed paragon NTFS so that my iMac can read and write files from and to this NTFS external hard drive.
Anyway, Mac OS can read NTFS partition, right?
Thanks!
help! why Houdini can't recognize NTFS harddisk in Mac OS X

Have a look here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_(computing) [en.wikipedia.org]
if you attach an external harddrive, it will be mounted by OSX somewhere in your directory structure. This is normaly /Volumes/, so if you attach a drive named ‘External’, it will be accessible at ‘/Volumes/External’ in your directory.
