Unable to use the upstream attributes as file paths

This is because of the File pattern TOP inside this hda, IMO there should be option to ignore the file pattern and use the upstream attribute to use as file pattern. Any thoughts?

yeah kinda painfull, but this is first version with the tree view in asset catalog.I really hope that they will definitely include subfolder creation and more features for the asset catalog in next version.

Have you tried switching the Component Geometry node into "Referenced Files" mode instead of "Internal SOP Network" mode? Then you can just point to the Maya-generated render and proxy USD files and they should be referenced into your asset.
