Is there a way to use this in a way that is a soft force. I would like my curves to be attracted to their input geo in a controllable way using this instead of going over .5 in value and they go over. Why make this a float value if in actuality past .5 it snaps?

Setting up a blend-shape is fairly easy I know. I was thinking of using the glue as a force and having an attraction to it's input would be nice instead of using a blend-shape. I would like the curves to try to get to the animation input using an attraction force. Obviously setting up a custom constraint would achieve this as well. But I am trying to understand the point of a value that is called a float but in practice really isn't.
