I sure have been active in this forum lately…
I have run into another problem with my first OTL. Now I want to have “buttons” which render out a specific ROP. I've made a ROP network within my subnet (in my custom operator) and I'm able to go to the textport and type:
render /obj/*scene*/OUTPUT/test
To render it out just fine. When I put this command into my OTL “default” setting I get an error. I figured I'd have to use
execute(“render /obj/*scene*/OUTPUT/test”)
But that didnt work either. I tried it from a textport and I got an error:
Unknown command: execute
…So my question is, how do I execute a ROP nested within my customOP to make it render?
:?:
render OTL

BTW……….. can anybody direct me to a good site for help with OTLs?
I have a lot of questions… asking them one at a time here isnt the most efficient way to go about getting the answers. Although, SteveOng is pretty quick at responding
I'm going to be needing to use a lot of execute(“”) type commands in my OTL. I'll need to bypass sops, un-bypass sops, switch switch sops between 1 and 2, etc. I'll also need to do things like “reload all cache” for certain objects within my sub-networks.
The documentation I've found so far has helped me up to a certain point but not far enough….

Am I missing something? Neither of those sites was any help. I understand the principles of OTLs and the first site:
http://www.odforce.net/odwiki/ [odforce.net]
Helps a little with its explanation of OTL management, but I need more specific info.
I'm still attempting to hookup a “render test” command to my main OTL parameters… :?

Hey the_squid,
There's a Digital Asset tutorial in the Help Browser & it should help lots. Yes, unfortunately the Sydney Vislab mirror is down.
To answer your question, put the following in the callback for the button:
opparm -c rop_network_name/rop_name execute
"opparm -c“ allows you to ”press“ a button which is what you're looking for & ”execute" is the ROP's Render button parameter.
Cheers!
