i am very new to houdini and i need help downloading the proper version of houdini for my computer which is a
32 bit g450 lenovo laptop with intel core duo 2 thanks.

now you'll want to pick the latest 32 bit build for windows…

I believe 32 bit support is on it's way out. You may have to upgrade your OS to 64 bit some time soon.
Using Houdini Indie 20.5
Windows 11 64GB Ryzen 16 core.
nVidia 3060RTX 12BG RAM.

That model of laptop supposedly has an Intel Pentium T4200 [ark.intel.com] processor, which is a 64-bit processor, so I'd strongly recommend switching to 64-bit Windows (if it's not already 64-bit) and then 64-bit Houdini.
Writing code for fun and profit since... 2005? Wow, I'm getting old.
