Hello.
I am trying to create a matte based on the intersection of the surface being rendered with spot light. Such that only areas within the cone of the light are white, and the rest of the image is black. Please see image attached. Anyone have an idea how I can achieve this please?
Thanks

There's no built in way to do this no, but it should be pretty trivial to use dot product and acos to set the cone angle in degrees if you manually bring in the light position and direction. Getting a light transform imported is a little more finnicky but should also be possible with Mantra.

Another option would be to use an illuminance loop in a mantra shader if you really need to have automatic access to all light transforms.

Hello Jsmack
Thanks for replying. I'll try researching the illunimance loop thing. Never heard of it
