Is the Mat Surface Mix really working??

Hello

Im simply trying to mix my materialX with a mix in surface mode bu nothing seems to react as it should.
And i can't find another way to mix full shader using mask .... Why is this simple thing already a challenge in 2025 and Karma USD?

Helo I think I have the same problem with the MaterialX Mix node (maybe I don't fully understand how it works).

I connect a yellow color to input A, and a brown color to input B.
For the mix input, I use a noise that I remap to be between 0 and 1.

What I expect:

Yellow where the mix is white (value = 1)

Brown where the mix is black (value = 0)

But instead, I get a weird blue color on the surface.
I don't understand why.

Well I don't think this is the same scenario as vinyvince but in your case, if you convert your colors to HSV before the mix then convert back to RGB I beleve you'll get results more inline with what you expect.
