Day 26 | Collapse
I took inspiration from an old Gems (M&M's) ad and tried to recreate it
UPDATED:
I finally managed to render it! It was one single setting that caused my PC to melt, but I managed to rectify it. The setting I forgot to change was in Stage > Scene Import. You have to enable "Packed Primitives" parameter and change it to "Create Point Instance" so it doesn't try to load every polygon individually. I learned how to optimize my scenes a lot more by doing this!

Today it's a little more technical than flashy. It was time to awaken those dusty trigonometry memories 😄 The points for the card deck are created with vex, where the input is the levels of cards, the angle and the height.
After Mardini I would love to find a way to also procedurally change the material textures of each card.
Hope you enjoy!

Nothing more satisfying than watching all the pins collapse

Modeling the bowling alley took a while, but the simulation was the fun part.
Went through a few iterations to get the result I liked best.
