Hi there, are people using the Amazon Cloud at all and well with Houdini 15?
Is it fixed?
Thank you!

Hey S.,
I have managed to do my sim without much problem in the end.
It might be 300 meters across in total.
Pyro shelf sort of gives good values to work and then I had to tweak to get the look I wanted without much problem.
I know I haven't found much on the subject myself, so in the end I posted

Hello guys,
I have an object that is 50 000 units wide. I am using H15 and I was thinking of dividing its size by 1000, so as to get pyro to solve properly but I thought I read that this only was an issue in previous houdini versions to 13.
What are your takes on the subject?
Thanks a lot
Xavier.

Hi Spencer,
I was wondering if the Fluid course you are teaching in September, is based off H14 as well by any chance?
Thank you very much,
Xavier.

Hi Twod,
Thank you very much for looking into this matter, I really hope you can get your hands on a 8600M GT, there are still a fair amount of macbook pro 4,1 around, if I was living in Toronto I'd leave you my machine!
Keep us posted!
Thanks again!
Xavier.

Here are the answers to your questions in screen grabs just in case I miss a detail. Yes I had these graphic glitches before 10.0.461.

Hi silvina,
I am sorry for not claryfying my issue better. You are right about it the flickering is not there anymore, thank you. The problems I was refering to are as follow.
specs of my setup
Machine: Macbook Pro Early 2007
Graphic Card: nVidia 8600M GT
Platform: MacOsX 10.6.2
Houdini Version: 10.0.473
When using anything that calls a pop-up menu window ,for example, pressing tab in the networkview, mmb dragging to adjust parameters, pressing cmd+B to make a pane fullscreen, dragging the middle separation bar, etc…(see included images), instead of displaying its menu, the popup window contents appears totally empty.
I find this to happen often enough to hinder my experience with houdini on my computer, I hope that this is fixeable.
Sincerely,
Xavier

So… now, what about that nVidia/Apple driver. When are they releasing that, it is long overdue, I have been having graphical glitches in Maya since I bought my mac, beginning 2007…err…:?

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem as emiltin with Houdini 10.0.465 and 10.0.467. Apprentice versions.
MacBook Pro with NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT.
OS X 10.6.2
X11 2.3.4 is already installed.
Thanks,
Xavier.
