Hi rafal!!!
Thanks a lot for the help!!!
Through your explanation and the Diagnostic Information from the License Server I could realise the problem raised when I turned the SELinux off, so that, it relabeled my system and reset the host name to localHost.localDomain.
I renamed it to the domain I sent before and now Houdini is working!!!
Thanks a lot again!!!

Hi everyone!!!
Well, I've installed Houdini Apprentice 9.124, despite of some bugs related to SELinux, it was working fine, but, on day, the License Server stoped of serving licenses.
Now when I try to connect it says “cannot connect to c951f78d.virtua.com.br”. When it happens the License server do not show any license available and do not give me the server code.
Trying to solve the problem I changed the server to “localHost.localDomain” and now it shows the licenses for Master and Rende (both Non-comercial) and the server code, but the server shows a message telling “The server may not serve licenses” (or something like this), and it does not start Houdini.
Again, trying to fix the bug, I downloaded and installed the latest version of Apprentice (9.179), but the problem remains.
What to do??
Can anyone helpe me???
The machine:
Notebook Compaq Presario X6000;
ATI - Mobility Radeon X600 - Prprietary Driver (8.2)
Fedora 8
Thanks a lot for everybody!!!!

Houdini Indie and Apprentice » Help!! Houdini crashes after a few minutes!!

Hi everyone!!!
I've installed Houdini Apprentice 9.1, in Fedora 8 and
a few weeks ago I sent a post called “Houdini takes me to the login window”.
First I thought it was retated to the video card (ATI Mobility Radeon X 600 - 256 Mb), but after some tests I finally solved the problem by setting the “SELinux” as permissive and since of that, it didn't take me to the linux login window anymore.
Houdini is a bit more stable now, but unfortunatelly a bug persists. Every time I open Houdini it works fine for a few minutes and some simple tasks like creating and positioning simple primitives, but ather that it crashes.
Is there any knowlege about that bug??How can I solve it???
I'm on a notebook Compaq Presario X6000
Pentuim 4 HT
2 Gb Ram
Fedora 8
ATI Mobility Radeon X 600 ( 256 Mb video card), with the latest ATI Proprietary Diver installed (version 8-02-x86.x86_64).
Thanks for everyone!!!

Hello to all!!
I've just installed the Houdini Apprentice 9.1, in Fedora 8 and I had a strange bug.
Fisrt, I had problems with the video driver. Using the open source ATI driver from Fedora, Houdini crashed every time. I replaced it with the ATI Prorprietary Driver and Houdini got very stable, but, unfortunately, after some random operartions it suddenly crashes and take me to the Fedora user login window.
I saw something related in an old post http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_forum&Itemid=172&page=viewtopic&p=53881#53881 [sidefx.com], but it seems no one had found a solution for that problem.
Has anyone found a way to solve it???

Hello to all!!!
I've just downloaded and installed houdini-9.1.124-linux_i686_gcc4.1, for Ubuntu Linux 7.04.
The installation was OK, but when I try to open Houdini, two problems happen:
Fisrt it tries to connect to the Licence Server and has no success.
After that, the Licence Administrator window appears, I click on “Install a Non-Commercial Licence” and when I click “Accept” in the End User Licence Ageement window, it freezes for a while and then appears an error message saying “Key installation failed for linux-zrsm”.
The machine ia a notebook Compaq Presario X6000 + ATI Mobility Radeon X600 + OpenSuse 10.3.
Can anyone helpe me???
Thanks a lot!!!
