Technical Discussion » Handle on curve points?

I do an asset that works with curves. And I want to control the points that are obtained after the Resample, from the obj level. Is it possible to hang handles at these points? I make handles on the end and the beginning of the curve. It is not difficult. I found handle “Curve Points Options(curvepoint)” is that's what I need?
I hope my poor English is enough to explain.

I use the CSV exporter node to output the parameters to the table. For some random reason, the order of the columns is changing. How to make the order I need? Can I sort the order of the parameters?
UPD: i fixed it by changes in python script of exporter

Technical Discussion » How do I draw a line between points, based on distance and point order.

Hello, Im new to houdini.
I want to connect these points into lines.
When I use an add node to do this, it connects all the points in order, but does not have a point distance threshhold/control.
https://ibb.co/m5Azyo [ibb.co]
What is a good way to connect these points, based on their order, and distance to the next point in the sequence?
Thanks for reading.
i`m not shure, but you can try use Connect Adjacent Pieces, to connect all points, add attribute @cost to points and use Find Shortest Path node to connect on you order. This node search path from start point to end by lowest @cost

Hello!
I have a Attribute Wrangle with string:
s@pathid = “$JOB” + “/id/map/”+detail(0, “matName”,0)+“_id.png”;
it make a detail attribute like that:
CUsers/Danil/Documents/HoudiniProjects/Nervous/id/map/Vertebra_thoracica_thvi_id.png
why i can`t use @pathid in Texture Map of node attribfrommap? how to do it right?

goldfarbIt's no problem anymore for me when i'm add bones for control muscle reaction, everything work fine. Houdini is amazing.
thinking more about this…it's an interesting use case - we'll have to think up something clever

miccetroThanks. Yes i know about “stash” and i was trying to close holes, remesh and it does not work.
using the muscDH geometry, the problem with it I think is that the tetrahedralization is failing because the geometry is not suited to be tetrahedralized (It has holes and isn't conforming). One way I found to fix this is to use another piece of geometry to do the tetrahedralization (like a sphere, and shape it roughly to match the geo I want to skin) and that works or you could use a different capturing method. Check attached file.
Also if you're using the stash node, you should click the “stash input” button to re-cache the input geo or the deform SOP will still be reading the old geo.
I thought it was some hidden problem of the original fbx file, which contains many elements created in different programs. I still understand this little, this is the first rig on the Houdini. I may have to use your method, thank you.
UPD: i find another solution. It`s work with Enlarge Input Mesh offset! apparently the reason was too subtle details.

goldfarbYes, thank you for the response. In archive i put part of scene and 2 version of geometry. I wrote in the sticky note some comments.
can you upload the file (with the geometry you are trying to capture)?

i have a scene with cached particles. In viewport everything work fine, but in rendering some frames is empty. Why it can be? If i apply surface on my particles it`s ok!
UPD: hm… i resolve a problem by change cache file load node from “all geometry” to “point cloud”

Houdini Lounge » How add selector to Parameter Interface?

ndickson
In the Type Properties dialog, select the parameter you'd like to add the button to, and under the Action Button tab, you can add something like:import soputils
kwargs['geometrytype'] = hou.geometryType.Primitives
kwargs['inputindex'] = 0
soputils.selectGroupParm(kwargs)
On the Parameter tab, you might or might not also need to add 3 entries in the Tags table (where the last entry's text is multiple lines). It might or might not be automatically filled in if you just fill in the Action Button tab, (I'm not an expert on that front).script_action_icon BUTTONS_reselect
script_action_help Select geometry from an available viewport.
script_action import soputils
kwargs['geometrytype'] = hou.geometryType.Primitives
kwargs['inputindex'] = 0
soputils.selectGroupParm(kwargs)
Thank you very much.
