So with Enivob's solution above, he creates a detail attr if it doesn't exist and then sets a value on it. Is there thread sync when setting detail attr likes this? Are these “global” vars atomic?

I used an attribute wrangle with the following:
int numDivisions = chi('num_divisions'); // per ring int ringNum = (int)(@primnum / numDivisions); @group_g1 = ringNum % 2 == 0;

First, do attribute wrangles process all points simultaneously like a vertex shader on the GPU? If so, each point is independent.
I'm looking to loop over each point in a linear manner (detail once?) and with each point update a variable that is shared across all points. Is this possible?

I'd like to select every-other ring procedurally (as the number of divisions could change) but I'm not sure how…

Houdini Indie and Apprentice » Are there example graphs for each node type?

As a learning experiment, I randomly picked a node [sidefx.com] from the documentation. I figured it would show me what the node does, perhaps with a little example graph. However, I'm not exactly sure what to do with it. Google returns [google.ca] nothing as well.
The node in question is irrelevant. The question is how would I learn what this does with little documentation, search results, and no example graph? Am I missing something in the docs?
