Rendering in Layers? specifically a shadow pass..

Hi!
I'm not exactly new to houdini, but everything i've done has been full CG.
I am now rendering for live action, and im not sure what i need or can do here

FYI I am creating a swarm of locusts

I would ideally like a diffuse lighting RGB pass, specular pass, ambient color pass, SHADOW PASS, occlusion, etc

in maya i normally change my shadow color to red then use that in shake…but i can't seem to find a way to change shadow color in houdini..

My friend suggesting “writing a vop light shader” so im going to try that out now? still seems like a little much…

Thanks! im going through it now…

seems to make houdini not as crazy as i thought it would be!
