How to open two Houdini sessions in Mac OS X?

I can do this in Windows but I can't make it work in Mac OS X…

(using iMac with snow leopard)

You need to start Houdini from a terminal with the Houdini environment sourced. You can do that by either sourcing houdini_setup in the install directory or by launching the Houdini terminal/shell in the Application folder. Once you have the shell just type ‘houdini’.
