hallo, i´m doing a tutorial and have a problem.
it s not easy to explain the problem but i attatched a hipnc-file.
The tutorial is about generating a crack that goes through a grid.
there is a cookie sop that should cut a poly grid. but sometimes the grid explodes!!!!
can anybody help me?
cookie sop makes crazy stuff!!!

Basically you're doing a boolean operation with a flat plane and that sometimes doesn't work (for a lot of 3D apps it rarely works). I just had to move the plane up in Y a tiny bit (0.01) and it worked.

Yeah, it's about how faces intersect, it's never 100%. But it's not only Houdini, The best boolean I've ever seen is in a software called Form-Z that I used many years ago! That was a hell of a boolean engine! But other than that, all the other 3D software I've used fails once in a while…
