NEW DIGITAL ANIMATION SCHOOL TO OPEN IN NEW WESTMINSTER
New Westminster, BC, March 21, 2012 — CG Masters Academy, a brand new digital animation and visual effects school, opens this fall at the Plaza at New Westminster Station, Canada’s first commuter rail mall. The new school boasts the latest technology, its own studio and shooting equipment and what founding instructor Nicholas Boughen is calling “The Evolution of Digital Arts Training”. Mr. Boughen, a 15-year veteran of the film industry, approaches this new challenge with nine years of experience teaching digital arts at several institutions locally and internationally including Capilano University.
“We are bringing a new way of thinking to digital arts training. Some schools are getting it wrong,” says Boughen who claims a better way of training digital artists. “Our graduates will be better prepared and better skilled than most others for work in the Film, Television and Gaming industries.”
The school will employ only master artists as instructors and will keep class sizes to a maximum of 15 students to guarantee the best possible access to the expertise of those instructors. According to Boughen, “The Plaza at New Westminster Station is the perfect location. Already at an education and transit hub next to Douglas College, and the new Civic Centre, students will literally be able to step off the skytrain and walk in our front door or step off a bus and grab a coffee, a bite to eat or take in a movie at the Landmark Cinema after class.”
“Our short term goal is to produce the best graduates in the NorthWest” says Boughen. “The bigger challenge will be in producing the finest graduates in the world, which we expect to take slightly longer.”
