I recently installed the latetest buid of Houdini12 because in the previous I had this creazy problem http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_forum&Itemid=172&page=viewtopic&t=25583 [sidefx.com]
but it seems houdini 12 is still very buggy and I am not sure if I should use it in an production. The latest bugs I faced was:
1.in a popnet where particles emitted from surfaces in a random way, the force I used to move them upwards, it was ignored. I had to open houdini again inorder to fix this.
2.in the same scene, suddenly all the “new” created primitives was scaled up in y direction. The old geometry was ok, but anything new was scaled, no matter what. Reopening the scene didn't helped. I had to create a new session and copy paste the objects I want it from the old one.
3.as the particles moving upwards, I have copy sphere as instances and I am using stamp to get random scales, but for some reason the scale comes up and down as the particles moving. I cant fix this no matter what.
Does anyone else had any similar problem with Houdini12 or older versions?
Houdini is an amazing software and 12 is an amazing release, I hope soon we will get a stable build.

If you think you have a bug submit a scene file to support after all if your in a production you should have support for your licenses. Its fine to write a list of things you think are wrong or not working but unless you post up a scene file showing those issues for people to look at its all talk.

There are lots of OpenGL issues being fixed constantly, so use the latest builds wherever possible. Also, try the different OpenGL viewport types (under Edit > Preferences > 3D Viewports) and try using the highest GL version you can (or try different ones when getting viewport bugs), and don't hesitate sending bug reports to SESI! They appreciate all the help they can in tracking down and fixing these things!
