I've just installed Houdini Apprentice 5.5.122, and am running through the rocket tutorial but the app will ALWAYS crash and restart my PC when trying to navigate through operatores using PgUp or PgDn. Without fail…. Why?

My system:

W2K SP3
P4 1.7GHz
ASUS P4B266 mobo
512MB RAM
Matrox Parhelia 128MB

The Matrox Parhelia graphics card has not been certified to run Houdini so I would recommend upgrading to the latest drivers from Matrox or you can try running Houdini in software OpenGL mode.

Please note you'll be using Houdini without hardware acceleration so the GUI might not update as fast as before. However, your system shouldn't crash when using Houdini.

Hi,
We can only certify cards that the manufacturer sends to us and is serious about rapidly improving the drivers on. Your best bets right now are ATI (FireGL not Radeon) and Nvidia, they have good drivers and are committed to supporting Houdini.
