Whenever i try to install a non-commercial license it comes up with this error,

Error installing key: <b>Warning</b>: Failed opening ‘/usr/local/apache/htdocs/client/get_non_commercial_license_auto.php’ for inclusion (include_path='.usr/local/apache/serversupport/include') in <b>Unknown</b> on line <b>0</b><br>
Invalid Command Token.
The command token should be one of:
SERVER, LICENSE, UPGRADE, INCREMENT, EXTEND, REPLACE, REMOVE, or CHANGEIP.


please help i just wanna use the program!!

Please install the latest available Apprentice version which is 7.0.102 instead. The 7.0.99 license server does not work properly hence the errors you got. Also, please post 7.0 related questions in the beta section.

on the website for the apprentice download, i clicked on the 7.0.102 download button and it seems that the only win32 one is infact version 7.0.99 the others looked like they were for linux…should i download one of these instead??

Oops, my mistake. Sorry about that.

It looks to me the errors has to do with the license server so can you please go here [license.sidefx.com] to download licenses manually instead?

To install, go to Start -> Programs -> Side Effects Software -> Houdini License Administrator and go to File -> Manually Enter Keys…

Next, copy the keys from the site & paste it into each field. Finally, click on Accept & you should get a pop-up telling you the keys are installed successfully.

its sorted now, thanks alot for all your help!

I am also having the same problem with the license administrator. I just downloaded v7.0.102. The install went well, but when it came time to get the NC license, it couldn't do it. I followed the above link to generate an NC license from the website and the website can't generate one either! Maybe the sidefx license server is down - I don't know.
As far as my machine is concerned, I'm using WinXP-SP2. The diagnostic particulars are as follows:

I used both standalone and network modes without results. The only thing I haven't done yet is to uninstall-reinstall the software.
