Compiling Houdini 17 USD tools on Windows

One of the features that I was looking forward to in Houdini 17 was their new USD tools. While they've seemed to have rolled back the official release of them to later, I notice that they have included some convenient files for compiling the USD files on linux. Unfortunately I am on Windows. Anyone had any success building these tools on Windows?
