Pivot Painter setup question

Hi all,
I'm trying to replicate the effect created here by deepspacebanana,

But I get stuck when trying to transfer name attributes to primitive points (so that each face is or point knows which pivot point to be associated with)




How can I utilise the pivot painter to do this for every face on an existing mesh? I have done this using copy to points and that works really well, but my vex knowledge is limited and I'm not sure how to get past this one step.
