Hi,

Ive been noticing this behavior for quite a long time but Ive found very difficult to debug it. When I open a new Houdini session then I change the desktop layout to solaris, the UI hangs for 2 or 3 minutes. This does NOT happen with other desktops, just with solaris. Also opening and existing hip file that is set to open with solaris, the UI freezes for a few minutes. Ive tried 18.5 and 19.0 both show the same issue. I am running Houdini on Ubuntu 18.04.
if you can give me a hint how to find out the problem, I will really appreciate it.

Is there a custom asset resolver employed in your pipeline that may take a while to start up?
