Flow Trail
Motion Graphics

This project demonstrates how Houdini 21’s Flow Solver inside Copernicus can be combined with Karma renders to create dynamic simulations directly from image sequences.

The setup shows how to take a rendered sequence from Karma and extract per-pixel velocity directions, which can then be used as driving forces inside the Flow Solver. This allows rendered motion to feed back into simulation, generating fluid trails, distortions, or secondary dynamics that react to the original image content.

A key part of the file explores how to handle animated sources in Flow without introducing stepping artifacts, ensuring that textures and simulations stay smooth over time

The project also includes the Solaris/Karma scene. This demonstrates a pipeline from rendering source images, to simulating in COPs.
