Reaction Collision
Motion Graphics

This project demonstrates how to use Houdini 21’s Reaction Diffusion inside Copernicus to build dynamic, interactive textures. The setup shows how a reaction diffusion map can be combined with animated 3D collisions, creating evolving patterns that directly respond to geometry in motion.

Beyond the COPs simulation, the project explores how to bridge into SOPs by using the reaction diffusion maps to drive geometry extrusion.

The project also includes an example of creating custom animated textures from these maps and collisions, making them ready for integration into wider workflows. To round out the system, a Karma/Solaris scene is provided, showing how to light, shade, and render the results in a production-ready context.

This project requires a SideFX Labs installation.
