Please always include the license diagnostic file when emailing support.

If you are running a headless system, please navigate to the bottom of the page for instructions on how to generate the diagnostic using the command line.

Using the License Administrator (hkey):

1. Start the Houdini License Administrator (hkey).
2. Navigate to the Diagnostic option on the left side.
3. Save the file and attach it in an email addressed to support@sidefx.com.

By default, the username and hostname of checked out licenses are now obfuscated in Hkey. This may be changed in the Preferences option on the left side. Uncheck the Scrub Diagnostic User Names box.

Using sesictrl to generate the license diagnostic non-graphically:

If you are unable to use the graphical License Administrator (hkey), you can use the non-graphical command sesictrl.

1. Launch the Houdini environment or directly call sesictrl from the installation location
2. sesictrl diagnostic > file
   • for example: sesictrl diagnostic > /tmp/diagnostic.txt
3. Locate the file you saved to (for example, diagnostic.txt) and attach in an email addressed to support@sidefx.com
