Remote desktop solutions such as Teradici, VNC, Teamviewer, AnyDesk and Windows Remote Desktop may be considered. Note that performance may vary. NVIDIA Quadro and AMD Radeon Pro cards have been known to work with Remote Desktop on Windows.

Houdini has a fallback mechanism to use an included Intel OpenCL driver if does not initally recognize one on your machine. This can happen when using remote solutions but your hardware may not be compatible with this driver causing it to generate an OpenCL error.

You can bypass this fallback mechanism by setting the following environment variable:

HOUDINI_USE_HFS_OCL=0
