lets say i drop a piece of whipped cream in to milk it will first submerge and then float to the surface
problem is the particles of the milk stick to the cream

the images shows an object whit viscosity 10000 and density 200
in a flip tank whit viscosity 0 and density 1000
it floats to the surface and it is and stay cowered in the fluid
which isnt what i want nor what real world does

is there no solution at all ?

I can't see the image here at work, but flip doesn't work well for what you're describing because of the underlying voxel grid. More than one particle is allowed to share a voxel, and some of the attributes, such as viscosity will blend as a result.

hmmm thanks for the answer

so there is no solution then ?!

You could maybe find a way to isolate the points of one group (test if inside surface of other group) and force them to move up or out of the other volume.

lets go ahead and be crazy,
another method to try since you are already working with 2 fluids will be having 2 solvers….. EHHH…..

as mention don't see flip as a particle solver more less like a Lego solver where any particle inside a piece or block receive attributes, (velocity color etc…) and the solver updates this each frame.

you can have one liquid have its own solver and the other one, and make them interact vs each other.

THIS will be slow!. since now you are colliding fluids. instead trying to mimic real life. whats you end goal?

sorry for the late respond

my end goal in this case

letting letters of different color fall in to water they submerge float to the surface then let them melt (sort of) and mix their color

an other thing which i was trying to do but the same problem occurs
having a block of steal and then meld it partially whit a laser beam
write something in it

@Solitude the particle arent really IN the volume they stick to its surface

@pelos 2 solvers grumpff i am happy if i get one to work lol
really new to houdini
