After a brief look into VOPs i've got a question - instead of stacking a lot of primitive nodes is it possible to write something like expression in VOPs? I mean are there any node with simple syntax analyzer that does some simple math operations?
The reason i'm asking it, is that i was needed to reflect a vector, and instead of simple 1-string expression i had to create like 10 or so nodes. I understand that VOPs is very fast, but i think it's also possible to make “Expression VOP” that is gonna be as fast as other VOP nodes?

I tried that of course, doesn't work. I think something was broken in 11->12 transition(is it working in 11 tho?).
Hope it's going to be fixed soon, prefer to have hotkeys for view dependencies, parameter interface and spreadsheet.

Is it normal that i'm unable to assign hotkeys for “Edit parameter interface” and “Spreadsheet…” RMB-menu functions?
I can see them in hotkey editor, and i'm actually able to assign some button to functions, but they do nothing on keypress. Is it just me running again into some weird H12 behaviour, or someone else as well?
Also, it seems that “place new tiles immediately” is just broken: if you set that checkbox, press apply/accept, and reopen preferences, it's still cleared.

I'm trying to emit particles from “make breakable” object, but it seems just doesn't work. For prefractured objects and it works seems because you can set “create output groups” flag, but i cannot find the same flag on “fracturedparms” node.
After some digging on odforce and here i found couple of methods, but they're for H10/11 and seems doesn't work anymore, at least not for me.
So, does anyone know some simple method to emit particles from dynamically broken objects?

Btw, that's just a thought, but i think such an explanations/guides should exist in documentation. Learning by example is N1 source of knowledge, at least for those like me.

Yep, rising the samples on both light in the scene to 16-64 totally fixes that “glitch” for micropoly engine. Rendering test right at this moment on workstation.

And still 2nd question left: is it possible to render both to “ip” and to file sequence, to monitor the output?

buki is right, switching to raytrace in mantra1 rop produces nice smooth renders, while turning off preview introduces undersampling artifacts.
I found that lights is ok in micropoly engine with something like 24-32 samples in envLight node.
Thanks guys.

Nice explanation, thank you very much for this one.
I'm also digging pyro masterclasses from this site, but still example scenes would be nice. Much easier to tweak ready scene than building your own from zero.
For example i'm still cannot understand how to achieve that level of detail like in that volcano image - is it very dense grid simulation running for a week or distributed on ferm, or it's some upres, and what is the proper way to do upres, and does all those shelf tools actually will work if i will introduce some custom changes into AutoDOPNetworks, and lots more questions.

It's probably a noob question, but are there hotkeys exist for fast switching between different network types?

Ehmm….the problem is that in render view image looks better than in file output. I'm not using HDRs at all.
Anyhow, it's not about the setup, i cannot understand why using the same ROP i'm getting different results in render view and in file output?

Preview is enabled, but turning it off changes nothing, i'm still getting that yellowish noise. Actually it somehow linked to envLight in the scene(envLight has beige cast), without it everything is fine, well, except the fact that i don't have fake gi lighting now.
As for the sequences: i mean - is it possible to set mantra to render the sequence to files as normal, but monitor what you getting on output in render view, or something like that. The same way it's done in, say, XSI.
PS: I had the same effect while ago, and iirc there's also was involved envLight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABWDUOtsOMs [youtube.com]

I see lots of difference between images in viewport and render output, can anyone explain why? This is second time im getting it, and i cannot find the reason.
I'm on H12 12.0.543, win64.
PS: Is there any way to render a sequence and view currently rendering frame in render view?

I had some other openGL apps running in background, maybe that's the reason. This is GTX580
