Selecting edges procedurally?

Hi,

I'm still learning houdini and I've noticed that I'm having trouble procedurally selecting the desired edges. Also not much more knowledge about attributes.



I'm searching way to do this without vex or attributes. Here is my workflow for selecting edges but as you can see when i change the width and height value selection gone. this is expected but what is the best way / workflow for to keeping edge selection?

In this particular case, you can just use "Keep in Bounding Regions". Just set a bounding region close to XZ plane.

For more complex scenario I think there is no way around Vex.

If you just want to select the base edges, you can do that based on the points' heights, and then convert to edges.
