I made this animation for my Color Theory class at SCAD. After painting swatches and making color studies all quarter, I finally got to use Houdini for my final project.

To begin, I imported a model of my head. I also made a spiral with 300k points which could’ve been closer to 200k points in retrospect.

I then projected my spiral onto the model of my head using a ray sop. After the spiral points were stuck to my the underlying model, I used a polywire sop to make the spiral visible to the renderer. Finally, I added a turning animation and sent my project to the farm. I finished by compositing the project in Nuke.
