i am having trouble getting a wire object to act like a rigid body. when increasing the linear and angular spring constants, the object will stop moving correctly, (even in freefall) before it becomes rigid. is there any way to fix this?

Maybe try a cloth solver with curve geometry?

The wire solver solves on points and edges. Depending on the shape of your object, if it is more round it will hold up better than if it were flatter in one direction. The less the angle between edges, the stiffer the joint. The greater the angle, the less stiff the joint. Can give you what you wanted, or not.

If your object is collapsing in a way that doesn't make sense for what you want, perhaps try adding internal re-inforcement cross-bars.

Many ways to do this. I just randomly connect points and whittle away at the seed doing the random sort to see if something looks good. Actually I will whittle away at the seed if the defaults don't work as well as I would wish.

Hope this helps.
