Pick a different edge to bridge a hole?

Assume a Font SOP creating a “4”. There are a pair of edges that join the outside of the “4” to the hole in the middle. Unfortunately, those edges are in the way where I need to do some tweaking, so I’d like to pick a different pair of points to bridge the hole. Unfortunately, I’m really drawing a blank at the moment. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance,
Tim

At least one edge is needed to preserve the hole's information. You could try using Remesh -> Labs Quadrangulate -> Dissolve the edge you don't want.

you can also use Hole SOP to un-bridge the 4 into 2 curves
then process the 2 closed curves separately and use Hole SOP to bridge them afterwards

Thanks so much to you both for your suggestions - a combination of Clip (produces two bridges) and Dissolve (to get rid of one of them) worked like a charm.

Cheers,
Tim
