Hi Houdini community.

I am trying to fill this arm's hole so I can VDB it for a SIM.
Polyfill does not seem to work for me, even when I have created a loop selection.
Any direction would be really helpful, thank you.

Hi,

Did you try PolyCap? It creates PolyFill with different settings i.e. single polygon cap.

Just tried it with no luck.

Here is the node tree, maybe I need to prepare it further to fill the hole as it is an animated Alembic?

Your display flag is not on polyfill though, it's on the delete node.

That was to show you the loop selection I have made, the results are the same when I turn on the Polyfill flag on it is the same result.
I have been scrubbing through the timeline it is clear that it looses the loop on the next frame, not too sure how to make the selection stick, any ideas?

Sorry to ask the obvious but are you sure this is a poly surface and not is pack yet or a poly soup? Sometimes when you unpack you still need to convert to poly after the fact. If that is not the case, can you post the file in question?

I think the geometry is packed (could be multiple levels of packing) or polygon soup like you said. Attaching the geo would be a good move as @sepu said.

Maybe not as obvious as you think, however you are both right, had to add the Convert node which converted to polygons. Just had to remove the boundary group and it works perfectly.

Thank you all for helping.
