Blend node in COP's blurring image

I'm using the blend node to look at a mask then applying that to the foreground image. It's properly masking my image, but I'm noticing the final output blurred.

Some examples

Before

After

I'm not sure how to remove the blur after the mask is applied, but I'd like to retain the fidelity of the image.

I've looked into using a crop node too, but I'm not as experienced in using it, and am not sure how the mask I'm creating in sops works with it.

Any help would be appreciated

To clarify on the end goal I'm looking to achieve. I've got this mask of a heightfield that I'm using for the background and mask in the blend node.

Heightfield Mask

The mask I'm using is positioned here and matches the position of the heightfield within my sop network using a "match Camera" node.

I've tried using a crop node to achieve the same output, but it's not putting the cropped area into the position outlined in the heightfield mask. Instead it's cropping the image where the mask is at and that is not where I need it to be.

Ideally I'd be able to use the blend node, since it's in the right position, but have the image not be blurry

Bumping this back up to see if anyone has a different solution or if I should move up to 21 to see if it's fixed.

EDIT:
I've found that "Projection on Layer" and "Rasterize Layer" are giving better results with the filter set to "Point", but I'm still loosing some details

it looks like you are blending images of different resolutions and/or different pixel alignments which can result in one of them being resampled

you can try plugging the highest res image first (bg) into the Blend COP

Thanks for the suggestion, but that didn't seem to work :/

I was able to set the blend filter to "point" and I'm seeing the same quality as the "Projection on Layer" and "Rasterize Layer".

The 2 images I'm using the blend node for are the following sizes
Image 1 3930 x 3930
Image 2 3072 x 3072

EDIT: Crop seems to be the only way to retain the details in Image 1. I'm just not sure how I can set the rop output to use the size of that with a black background
