I'm trying to sweep and randomly rotate a grid along some hair strands, and one would expect that randomizing an attribute like "rot", "orient" or "curveu" would somehow affect the sweep SOP.

Sweeping works ok, but no matter what I try, no such luck for randomizing the rotation for every strand along the hair strands, let alone the random rotation for every strand point.

I tried all kind all kinds of settings and adjusting just as many attributes, but no luck so far...

100 free karma points for anyone knows the secret to sweeping some geometry along hair strands, and also randomizing point or strand rotation for every hair strand in Houdini :-)

Randomizing an attribute like "orient" does affect the sweep sop...it is a quaternion value needed though.

Brilliant, did not try using the orient attribute with a quaternion setting.

Thanks a lot for this Christmas surprise, I suspect your karma just grew a little
