Hello:
I have a Windows 11 VDI machine trying to run Houdini 21.0.596 which crashes shortly after showing the splash screen. Unfortunately, I don't a crash log in my houdini_temp folder so I can't paste that here.

Running hgpuinfo -q I don't get a successful return:

C:\Program Files\Side Effects Software\Houdini 21.0.596\bin>hgpuinfo.exe -q

C:\Program Files\Side Effects Software\Houdini 21.0.596\bin>echo %ERRORLEVEL%
-1073740791

And in the event viewer I get:
Faulting application name: houdini.exe, version: 21.0.0.596, time stamp: 0x6968816c
Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 10.0.26100.7824, time stamp: 0xad803701

Faulting module path: C:\Windows\System32\KERNELBASE.dll

Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:

nvidia-smi returns:

NVIDIA-SMI 582.16 Driver Version: 582.16 CUDA Version: 13.0 |

Is there a workaround or maybe a known error for using a VDI machine with grid drivers? Thank you!

Thanks! Looks like setting HOUDINI_USE_HFS_OCL=0 (and killing a zombie houdini.exe process) did the trick.
I do get a warning when houdini starts though:

OpenCL Exception: (-33)
Generating new icons...
Done generating new icons.

(Anything I should worry about?)
Thanks again!
