Hello to all, is it posiible to use Houdini Apprentice HD fot artistic visual performances?

You can pre-render stuff from houdini i suppose but for live performances you are better off looking at: http://vvvv.org [vvvv.org] and http://touch077.com [touch077.com]

thanks, yes it is exactly what I want to do, but maybe my first quastion wasnt very clear, I am asking about licensing purpose. Can I use prerendered images or animations from Houdini Apprentice HD version for these artistic performances ? or do i need a BIGGER version?

- i want to use particle system, pyro, fluids… but for this i need Master version and it is too much just for these visuals

If these are personal artistic projects and not commercial projects then you can use Apprentice HD. The resolution of rendered images is limited to 1920x1080 but I would imagine that that would be big enough for you.

thanks for answer rmagee. I think this is not totally personal projects couse artists get some money for travelling, food, accomodation etc… so if I understand HD version is not suited for this

If it doesnt pay enough to buy a lic then maybe leasing is an option.

compensation for travel etc doesn't mean it's a commercial project….

best thing to do would be to mail SESI at info@sidefx.com and provide all the details - they'll be able to give you an answer.
