I want to select multiple pieces of geom and create one proxy object for a rigid sim. I'm guessing it wouldn't be too difficult to create this tool? Or, is this feature currently available?

Objectmerge, if they are different objects.

Merge, if they are in the same network.

Or group them. There are many ways to do this.

Then append a bounding box (or choose another way of making a simplified geo)

Or, have a look at the collisions tab on the node that imports your geometry into DOP. You can visualize and modify your collision geo there.

The Extract tool on the Modify menu will take a selection of multiple objects and create a new object with all of the other selected objects set up as object merge nodes. At first this means that making changes to the positioning of the objectmerges will be locked to the referenced objects meaning that when you move the extracted object the pieces don't transform. You can lock the merge node if you want to transform the extract object.

You can also RMB on the merge node and export to a bgeo file then reimport this file to get your proxy geometry.
