Technical Discussion » 3D Mouse and camera/view pivot

Also chipping in and will send a bug report. Ideally the drivers would be able to mimic Maya, as I am switching between the two constantly and the tilting camera in Houdini etc is driving me nuts. I currently can't use two hands to navigate due to injury, so the Spacemouse is my only way to orbit!
Houdini Engine for Unreal » "Unknown extension .hdalc" can't import into UE4.25

I've deleted all my other UE installs except 4.25.2 and reinstalled Houdini 18.0.532, ticking ‘install engine for Unreal’ on install.
The installation instructions claim simplicity - the plugin will be available in Unreal.
This should mean I can drag/import a hda/hdalc into UE4 and use it, but it's not appearing in the plugin list in UE, nor is it copied to the folder the installer says it should be in: “C:\Program Files\Epic Games” has nothing in it at all, the folder is empty but Unreal works!
Following these instructions around in circles:

Technical Discussion » TOPs: ROP Alembic output not reading ${WEDGENUM} attribute.

My wedgenum attribute upstream in a wedge node is being output correctly (see screengrabs) but in the ROP Alembic output below it the $WEDGENUM attribute is always zero.
The files are being written but it's just overwriting the same file.
I've got “output.${WEDGENUM}.abc” in the Alembic file path, which is what the internet says I should have.
Anyone any ideas? I've been going around in circles.

Technical Discussion » Wedge node - Error rendering child: /out/wedge1/shell1

I have reduced a scene to a sphere-on-a-plane, wedge and write geo nodes, with 3 wedges on tx attempting to write out a VDB.
I'm on Windows 10, Houdini 18.0.287
I get “Error: Error rendering child: /out/wedge1/shell1”
I've followed this tutorial: https://vimeo.com/182534050 [vimeo.com] up to 22mins 24sec, where everything appears to be set up correctly.
I've only found one other user with this issue: https://www.sidefx.com/forum/topic/53481/?page=1#post-303166 [www.sidefx.com]
I've attached my ‘sphere on a plane’ scene. If someone could run it it'd help determine if it's my machine or the scene, or help point me to a working wedge .hip demo (which I'm currently looking for also) so I can take it apart, that'd be great.
Inside the shell node within the wedge1:
Python error: Traceback (most recent call last):
File “”, line 1, in
File “opdef:/Driver/wedge?PythonModule”, line 173, in applywedge
File “opdef:/Driver/wedge?PythonModule”, line 104, in getwedges
File “C:\PROGRA~1\SIDEEF~1\HOUDIN~1.287\python27\lib\site-packages\future\types\newrange.py”, line 146, in __iter__
return range_iterator(self)
File “C:\PROGRA~1\SIDEEF~1\HOUDIN~1.287\python27\lib\site-packages\future\types\newrange.py”, line 153, in __init__
self._stepper = islice(count(range_.start, range_.step), len(range_))
RuntimeError: maximum recursion depth exceeded while calling a Python object
EDIT - I'm going to run through this “PDG | Particle Stream Wedging Part 1” tutorial also to see if I'm making a mistake: https://vimeo.com/323291527 [vimeo.com]
Thanks!

Hey there Eckxter, did you get anywhere with solving the ‘shell1’ error?
I'm getting the exact same behaviour with a pyro sim + wedges.
