Sorry, I figured it out myself — I had unnecessary displacement turned on and set the dicing quality too high, which filled up my GPU memory. It's all fixed now!

This is my first time trying Karma in a project (I’ve always used Redshift before), and overall the experience has been great—until the final render.
It’s a very simple scene, and when rendering a 2K image (XPU, 512 samples), it only takes about 2 minutes per frame. But once I try rendering the 4K version, the render time suddenly jumps to 5–6 hours per frame!
I noticed that my GPU memory (24GB) gets completely filled right away, and then it starts using shared GPU memory.
Why is this happening? Please help me out! 😢
I'm on Windows 10, using a 4090 GPU, 128GB RAM, and Houdini 20.5.550.

Expansion states, overrides, and load masks are stored as "data blocks" on the LOP Network. Data blocks are removed like this:s = hou.node('/stage') s.removeDataBlock('foo.overrides')
Two years later,we still don't have this basic function

Can relative paths be used for assets in the asset gallery? Nowadays, everything is an absolute path. Once the location of the USD folder is changed, the asset becomes unusable, which is very inconvenient.

The warning is coming from the PNG library. It should be safe to ignore, however if you want to remove this warning, you will need to remove the offending profile. If you have ImageMagick, you can run:mogrify my.png
Every time I switch to the Chinese input method, this error occurs, it's really annoying

May I ask if it is necessary to purchase genuine GAEA and then open GAEA to use these nodes?

Sorry to dig out this old thread ... but has there been any progress on this? I'm struggling quite a bit with character light rigs and camera animations and wondered if there might have been something in 20.5 that I have missed.
Nothing changed

So, the OpenGL multi view isn’t lagging and crashing anymore that’s what I meant.
Previously, when you split the viewport into two, (I don’t mean two displays, just creating two scene views) using one for XPU and the other for scene manipulations, there were frequent random crashes. Now, I haven’t been able to make it crash at all.
As for materials randomly turning black (Labs - reset viewport triggers this too), I’ve found a temporary solution. I create a second material, 'usd_preview_material,' and set its Purpose to 'Preview Render' when assigning it to the object.
The material issue has not been fixed since H20.

SideFX in version 20 introduced many cardinal internal improvements, which should lead to a noticeable increase in productivity, as I understood from the streams. And all the plans look very tasty, but apparently the new configurations turned out to be too buggy. And they are debugging them little by little. Let me remind you that the unnoticeable for users rewriting of SOP took several years and led to a cardinal improvement in speed. So the work is underway.
I understand, this bug had been fixed but introduced again...
