hi evry one :
i have a circle nurbs curve and a box who are copied to evry point in this curve so:
-1- i have some proplem with the up vector i note that the up vector is deforming the shape of the box who are copied to this point and i want to no why that is happened
-2- in which way will houdini orient the object if in some point the up vector and the normal are coincided.

hi
houdini it is a very greate program and i never didn't see like this strong in one program
i have some problem with the translate from the english language to my mother lang :
so what is the $FF
i have read that is maen the :Floating point frame number
but i can't understand what is that maen
and about this word -floating- , in houdini this word is evry where -the floting point- and -the floating value- and the type of something can be a flot
so anyone can help me : what is the of -floating-
and i want to be sure about another word -integer- i think that the integer number is can be just 1-2-3-4…………. and can't be 1.5 or 3.7 or something like that

WhoDjini, thanks for answer but I want to ask you for something
in the smoke example if you can explain the expression $$d(u,v,w) in words ,that is will be a new information in houdini . i mean how houdini understand and why the $ are writen tow times and d(u,v,w) i think that mean that:
d:density, (u,v,w) this is the coordinates in the UVW map
and will be great if you attach hip file which you use the smoke example with this expression.
probbins, thanks .your explain about W it is very easy to remember
thanks for all

hello everyone i just want to know if i understand the UVW all right or some thing is wrong:
i know that:
every geometry contain a U curve and a V curve and if my geometry is a curve then this curve have just the U and when i have a creep ,the U and V con't be more than 1 or less than 0 and about W i don't know any thing
i hope that someone can explain what is the UVW basic and how to usefull it in the creep node?(i have seen the 5.creep_sop video in the modeling but not understand)
thanks for all

goemetry (circle1)have a rotation around the lofted circles's normals and the houdini file are in attached

Pagefan ,thanks the video is very nice and help me very much ,but i still have some quistion
in the photo dowen i have circle1 in the XY plane and a tube who making by loft two circles (circle2) evry one from a 8 divisions
whin i copy the circle1 to the tube that is what happend and the quistion in the photo.

ok,thanks for answer,but
in the answer of the questions you say:
1-Houdini aims everything down the Z axis. You orient your geometry the way you want it to point with the Z axis. The Copy SOP will orient your geometry using it's Z axis and match that with the incoming point template normals.
how i can know how houdini orient the normals of point's geometry template,is it always to the Z axis .and you mean the Zaxis of the world space or the bounding box's center axis.and if i have a sphere ,are the normals of all points be aimed to the center of this sphere or not ?
2- You can't edit this normal. Well yes you can: move some points on the face.
i couldn't understand how to edit ,what you mean move some point on the fase which fase and which points
the oreint is controled what?
i have just one week working on the houdini and in the last i work with maya so ………….
3- See the numerous examples files for the Copy SOP in the operator Help. And please read the comments on the nodes (MMB on the tiles).
what is MMB and where i can read the comments i searched the houdini help for MMB but i don't find any thing,i am sorry ,but if you can explain to me more.thanks again

hi: i have some question about normal and orientation
1-dose the normal give every fase of geometry (or maybe evry point , i don't know exactly ) a direction to the center of this geometry?
2-how to work with this parameter and how i can see the normal's vector to evry fase (or point)?
3-and in the attached file (normal 2) whin the orientation of circle1 is XY plane the circle is aligned to the evry point of the tube(making by loft) ideally, but when i change the orientation to this circle(circle1) to YZ or ZX plane the aligned take a strange form who i can't understand, any one can explain me how this happend and explane what is the orient of the geometry?

Ok,that is greate. I can understand how to work {cos($BBX*720)*$BBX}or {sin($BBY)^2} and i can image how is the line SOP or the curve SOP to change when i use them and i can combine some expression to have a Spiral and that is very interesting to build a spiral stairs with some expression but the following expression :
($TX*(1-$BBY))+($TX2*($BBY))
($TY*(1-$BBY))+($TY2*($BBY))
($TY*(1-$BBY))+($TY2*($BBY))
i can image how to change the line or curve when i use them in position of point SOP with line SOP and i had stady the high mathematics a little but i don't remmeber this kind of expression and can you give me the link of help where this expression are listed ?
you can give me how to write this expression in the mathmatics with the X,Y,Z variables,i just want to see how to like its graphics in the XYZ system
($TX*(1-$BBY))+($TX2*($BBY))
($TY*(1-$BBY))+($TY2*($BBY))

Allegro ,you used this equation in your example(attached file) i want to ask you how you know this equations (formulas) , it is very difficult to understand for me , i want to know if this equations is famous in the math or in houdini world, i want to know how you know this
