Hi everyone,
What are the good VEX editors available out there? I saw an old tutorial suggesting jEdit but it seems like it no longer supports VEX.
What are your suggestions?

Hi everyone,
Can somebody tell me what are the available render passes for smoke? I've been trying to render direct_noshadow and direct_shadow.
I'm not sure if the direct_shadow works at all…

I tried using the POP wrangle but it still isn't working.
I think I might not be calling the right attribute.
in the POP wrangle I wrote :
velx = fit01(rand(@id), -5, 5);
I'm pretty sure the velx is the issue…

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to set a random velocity per particle using fit01.
In my POP Source, in velx I wrote :
fit01(rand(@id), -5, 5)
Is there a reason why this wouldn't work?
What does work is
fit01(rand($F), -5, 5) but that makes all my particles per frame go in the same direction.

Hi everyone,
I seem to have found a great way to make Houdini crash. I'm animating a ramp in a COP network that is being used to create my density volume.
So basicly I want points colored in white to emit and the black ones to not emit. So far so good. The issue comes when I'm animating my ramp. I'm trying to create a shockwave effect and the second I animate the points of my ramp Houdini crashes.
The DOP network is DOP_Shockwave.
Any idea what's going on? It's a technique I've used many times in 3DS with Fume Fx.

Hi everyone,
I would like my particles to emit smoke and leave trails of smoke. I'm only emitting particles for one second and then don't leave a trail behind.
Any idea what could solve this issue?

Hi!
I'm having issues seing my Pyro simulation while rendering. In the viewport everything seems fine but when I do a render my flames are almost invisible.
I boosted the density scale of the Multi Field but I still don't get much out of it.
Could this be a problem caused by lighting?

Hi,
I'm trying to have particles switch groups depending on the HITNUM variable. For some reason it resets itself and never get higher than 1.

I'm trying to create a popgroup based on if the my particles are affected by the popfan.
I'm very new to VEX and Houdini so I don't know which attributes I can use in the VEX expression.

Hi!
I'm trying to create an explosion inside a static object and for some reason my grid seems stuck and there's no simulation. If I remove my static object (GEO_GUN_BARREL) everything works fine.
Any ideas?
