Where is the Problem with Emitting from Points at Frame 1? Source from Point, And incoming Pointcount in birthrate Field.
If you er happy with simple noises there is still the particle sop set to modify source.

i can not look at your file right now, but when you want to use variables down the chain you have to map an attribute to the variable. you can do so using the addvariablename VEX function in an attributewrangle or using a create attributeSOP that has a field for naming a variable, you have to set the value to the wanted attribute there.
using variables gets replaced by an @attribute workflow, so as far is i know most people avoid using the old $VAR system.

Hey,
Any ideas how to apply individual particle rotation for each fluid particle in a flipsim. Spin/orientation should be relfected on copied objects.
Torque pop does not seem to work along with the flip solver…

does the mantra version which come with H13 have new hardware requirements… i have instant crashes on our rendernodes.
rendernode: 2 x Intel Xeon E5-2640 0 @ 2.50Ghz / 64 gig ram / WIN 7
there is no openGL Graphic card installed but that was not a problem with 12.5
When i install an executable directly on the node and open up a scene in software open gl mantra crashes when rendering direclty to mplay and when running in background.
i m using the newest build fpr testing: 13.0.227
The same version works without any problems on a workstation.(Also WIN 7 dial XEON). Directly from H ore when mantra is executed via Hqueue.
Both the workstation + the nodes are on the same shared storage.

i'm shure we ll get some workflow advices for the packed stuff soon:!… for now i only use them without groups and split my assets into several seperated parts.

i m not exactly shure what you mean by that…. at the moment we can assign 1 material per packed prim?
i.e… when i load a bgeo sequ via file SOP as a packed delayed load there is currently no way to access groups ore any other information nessessary to apply different materials to different parts of my geometry without unpacking the data?
