Hey Olivier,
without having investigated the task closely, i would say you should try a for each loop.

Hey McNistor,
your right, the workflow could be improved in many places. I think the best way to create a workflow that suits a lot of working styles is to make it easily customizable. SideFX has put the radial menus in Houdini 16. now its time for the next step: make it easy to customize your own radial menus. this alignment thing would fit perfectly in one. but atm only code experts could create one…

Hey Julca,
To be honest I don‘t mind. I can see the orientation of the gizmo in the viewport. Thats all I need to decide if im in the right alignment mode for the action I want to do.

Hey Julca,
not as quick as you wish I guess…. but you can right-click on your handle and choose align handle. In there you can see the alignment.

have you tried renaming your user preferences folder? this way houdini creates a fresh one from scratch.
try it and see if the problem persists.

Houdini Indie and Apprentice » How to "spring" animated points?

Hey riccardone,
This might be a case for chops. Chops lets you take channels(animated parameters for instance) and modifiy their data. You have a spring node there which might create the effect you are looking for.

Hey Olaf,
thanks for your help!
and do you know where I can find commands that houdini uses internally?
for example. I want to change on the “view” radial menu the button double view to side by side view.
this is the code for double stacked.
where can I find the code for side by side? this:
is not working.
Cheers
Philipp
thanks for your help!
You will probably need to do Python stuff to implement what you wantthis is the problem for me. Do you know coincidentally how to switch to a tool via python?
and do you know where I can find commands that houdini uses internally?
for example. I want to change on the “view” radial menu the button double view to side by side view.
this is the code for double stacked.
radialmenu.setViewportLayout(kwargs, hou.geometryViewportLayout.DoubleStack, 1)
where can I find the code for side by side? this:
radialmenu.setViewportLayout(kwargs, hou.geometryViewportLayout.SideBySide, 1)

Hey everybody,
I'm looking for a radial menu that contains the tobobuild tools. so u can easily switch between tools while using tobobuild. if there is none, that would be sad. its one of the cases where a radial menu would make perfect sense.
in general, it would be great if there would be an easy way to create custom radial menus not only for creating nodes but for activating tools. view toggles (display points or so ) etc.
sidefx please!
Cheers

Hey emanuelg,
you could use a file node and write the specific frame to disk. and then you could use that as your mesh.
Or you could use a stash node to stash the cloth at a specific frame.

Hey Henry,
WOW this tool is so super useful!
Picking the right bone to weight to is cumbersome in all 3D packages i know.
sweet solution!
Thank you so much for sharing!

edit:
one little nitpicking caveat: is it possible to spawn the selector window near the mouse cursor and not in the center of the screen? love it!

Hey Danil,
you can create a null or something. give this null a button via the edit parameter interface. in here you have to drag your “stash input” buttons onto the field: “Drop parameter here to add new links” under Channels tab.
