One thing to try is to delete the ‘keys’ folder in your windows folder and try to reinstall. I think someone suggested it in the past and that did the trick.

One way would be to use an add sop to delete geometry but keep points and then build new polygons using the ‘By Group’ option. Use those messy prims to generate your particles. With primitive sop you can move those polygons with your particles. The point numbers don't change so put down a point sop and copy the chaniging positions from the moving parts to your initial model. See the attachment.. hopefully it'll make more sense

You can try turning off rendering with micropolygons under mantra render options. If the image gets noiser turn up sampling higher to compensate.

Hi all,
I can't seem to toggle between expression/value in the ‘Stamp Inputs’ tab using the LMB. It works fine when clicking on the ‘number of copies’ button in Copy tab; but in the Stamp tab the only way to toggle the expressions is to RMB on the field and choose the ‘toggle expression’ menu?? Using 8.0.383 on windows.

Any chance of being able to generate shadow maps larger than 640x480. Perphaps allowing ‘Auto-generate Depth Map’ option to render arbitrary size??

I've hit this many times.. been trying to reproduce it in a predictable manner (without success). It seems to happen when user is selecting geometry and tumbling the viewport with spacebar. Once in a while the context menu from right mouse click will also get ‘stuck’ on screen. As stevenong said hiting tab twice is the only way to refresh the viewport.

Delete Sop should do the trick.. have the options set to ‘number/enable’ and ‘delete by expression’. In expression just add ‘if’ statement to your point expression

Have you tried ..right click on SOP down the network and ‘Preview Window’? So you can paint stuff in your current viewport and the floating window will show the results on the SOP down the line. Not sure if this is what you're after though..

Just to add to the previous message.. I've tested the model on Fedora and it doesn't disappear. It seems to be a Windows :roll: thing..

I remmember having to set this under linux to get Houdini working on Fedora with a Geforce card.

I've had similar problems before. It looks like houdini is choking on models with a lot of geometry. The model I've had problems with was around 260K polys. It would disappear when trying to rotate in viewport. When I switch to wireframe then it would sometimes last longer before it disappears; in shaded mode it would always disappear. A partial fix as someone suggested is to cull your polys so you show only a subset of the model in display settings. Hopefully SESI will look into the opengl issues.
